Appellate Practice

The firm has an established appellate department which has extensive experience in appellate practice in Colorado state and federal appeals courts. Mr. Karstaedt and Mr. Gregory have a combined experience of over fifty years in that area. In addition to handling hundreds of appeals to the Colorado Court of Appeals, the Colorado Supreme Court, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, they provide an appellate lawyer's expertise to the handling of trial court litigation so that appeal points are properly preserved for an appeal, if necessary.  Mr. Gregory worked for the Colorado Court of Appeals for seven years, which provides him with unique insight into the Court's operations, as well as the judicial philosophies of the judges on the Court.

The lawyers in the appellate department also actively advise the firm's attorneys concerning legal issues and trial strategies.
